For over a decade, Taste of the Valley events have become increasingly popular for both residents and visitors to Renfrew County. The original concept for the Taste of the Valley was to promote and support local food producers in the Ottawa Valley. Over the years the events have evolved to encourage an expanded focus on the notion of “taste” with the celebration of local food, products, art and culture.
Given concerns for public health and safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no live Taste of the Valley events are yet planned for 2021. Please check back for updates and new virtual events featuring cooking with local food.
Most farmers markets within Renfrew County are open and operating, so please take the opportunity to drive, ride, bike or hike to one of our celebrated markets in many of our picturesque small rural towns and villages. Take in the sites and enjoy the local produce, food, arts and crafts available and created by skilled and passionate growers, producers and artisans.
Check out our Farmers Market and Vendor Sections for additional information and links to local vendors who can be found at various farmers markets and/or online. There are a variety of options for getting in touch and purchasing locally.
COVID-19 Protocols are in effect at the farmers markets. Remember to wear a mask and physical distances of 2 metres are required.
